Dimensions: 0.375″ (9.5 mm) thick with an opening that is 0.325″ (8.25 mm).
Measure your stem or old knob to make sure this will fit.
NOTE: The threaded portion of the stem is smaller (0.300″) than the splined portion (0.325″) where the knob fits.
Easy installation
1. remove broken red plastic knob
2. pull-off c-ring
3. warm black plastic knob in very hot tap water (so you can push it on without breaking it)
4. push knob onto splined portion of stem until c-ring slot is visible (push the center of the knob, do not push on wings)
5. replace c-ring
This knob is meant to fit tightly, so if you also lost the little c-ring, this knob will still work as long as you don’t crank the valve down too far and hard.
The last 2 pictures show the broken red knob. If your knob looks like it, this replacement knob will work. If the stem on your tank is longer, you can push the knob down farther so air does not leak, or you could shim with a thin washer. If this knob does not work, let me know the brand of air tank you have and which dimensions need to be changed. I will modify the part to fit that brand.
I get questions asking if this knob will fit a specific tank. All I can really say is look at the pictures and measure your old knob if pieces are still available. I think all of these tanks are coming out of the same shop in China. They get different paint and decals for different retailers. My knob is 0.375″ (9.5 mm) thick with an opening that is 0.325″ (8.25 mm). The original knob was 0.355″ thick with an opening of 0.325″. If the knob is not thick enough, the stem will seat too deep and air will leak. The replacement can always be sanded if it is too thick for your tank.
Some knobs are completely round and others are wing shaped – this shape does not matter, only the thickness and hole size matter.
